Chris Knudson is a songwriter, composer, musician, producer, and engineer having lived and worked primarily in Texas, New York City, Los Angeles, Berlin, Germany, and currently Portland, Oregon producing, recording and releasing music on Lightstone Records under the Kanude and Val Holler monikers. His song "Wheels" was used in HBO's True Blood.

"The earliest music I remember listening to was the music of the late 60s and early 70s, from my dad's reel-to-reel tape deck: The Beatles, Peter, Paul and Mary, The Byrds and other folk and rock acts from the era. There are photographs of me at age 3 or 4 with these big white over-the-ear headphones plugged in to my dad's stereo system. I moved forward and backward musically from there."
